RAF Wattisham Circa 1984
I arrived at RAF Wattisham having driven up from Winchester for a tour of some of the airfields up east, I'd just got to the crash gate and parked when a stream of 74 Squadron F.4J Phantoms taxied by one after the other. It was great to see the Pilots and Navigators giving a friendly wave as they passed by.
Alas Wattisham is no longer an RAF airfield and the F.4s are long gone, the airfield is now in the hands of the Army Air Corp and is home to a number of Apache attack helicopters.
